Club Statement- Coronavirus

The Football Club have today released the following statement regarding the Coronavirus outbreak. We would urge everyone to read the below carefully.

In recent days, there has been a rise of confirmed COVID-19 (Coronavirus) cases in the UK. Although case numbers are currently low in the Eastern Region, all experts suggest a rapid increase in cases is likely over the coming days and weeks.

Felixstowe & Walton United FC would like to reassure supporters that we are putting in place measures to help prevent the spread of the virus but need the full co-operation of our supporters and visitors.

All our supporters and matchday staff are asked to observe good hand hygiene practice and there will be hand wash and soap in all our toilets within the ground and clubhouse areas to assist this.

Supporters are advised to bring hand gel with them, if they have some, and in addition we would advise that you refrain from shaking hands with other supporters and staff at the ground as this can transmit viruses very quickly.

If you are elderly, or have underlying health conditions, please refer to the latest government advice before attending a game or event at the Goldstar Ground. If you are in any doubt, call 111 for further advice.

Supporters displaying symptoms that are consistent with the virus are advised to familiarise themselves with the NHS's advice on self isolation and not attend fixtures.

Likewise, please follow the latest government advice and stay indoors and avoid contact with other people if you have travelled to the UK from overseas within the last 14 days, and have a cough, high temperature or shortness of breath, even if your symptoms are mild.

Whilst there is currently no precedent to close the clubhouse, postpone or cancel games/events at this time, we continue to take advice from the FA, PFA and Isthmian League. The situation is very fluid and this guidance will be continually assessed and monitored, and further updates will be issued when appropriate.

We are relying on everyone to play their part and be transparent about any potential level of risk. It will help you, and lower risks in the ground on matchdays.

Thankyou

Chris Daynes
