FA Competition Draws & Preview
The Draws for the early rounds of the FA Cup, FA Trophy and FA Youth Cup have been made.
The Seasiders have been drawn AWAY to Wellingborough Town in the FA Cup Preliminary Round on Saturday 19th August. If the scores are level after 90 minutes the tie will go to a replay at the AGL Arena on Tuesday 22nd August. Wellingborough were 6-0 victors over Long Melford in the Extra Preliminary Round.
Wellingborough finished 4th in the United Counties Premier Division (Step 5) last season and play at the Dog & Duck ground in Northamptonshire. We've met the Doughboys before, winning 2-1 at Dellwood Avenue back in 2010/11 in front of the ITV news cameras, before bowing out to North Greenford after a replay.
As well as their earlier win in the FA Cup, The Doughboys have had a good start to the league campaign winning 3 of the opening 4 fixtures, including 3-0 at home to Histon on Tuesday evening in front of 105 spectators.
The winners of the tie pick up £1444 and a place in the First Qualifying Round. The losers lick their wounds for another year and collect £481 (nope, I have no clue either!).
Info for travelling supporters-
Coach travel is FULLY BOOKED (departs AGL Arena at 10.45am).

In the Isuzu FA Trophy we will welcome a familiar face in Brentwood Town to the seaside on Saturday 9th September. If level after 90 minutes, we'll go straight to penalties... hopefully with a better result than last season when we went out to Burgess Hill on spot kicks after a 2-2 draw. The winners will take home £1500 and another home draw against the winners of Hertford Town (Southern League Division One) or Grays Athletic. The losers will get £400 to pay for... well, not much at all once expenses are covered.
The U18's have had some tough FA Youth Cup draws in recent seasons, at Chelmsford and Lowestoft amongst others, but will be pleased with a much shorter trip to Whitton United in the Preliminary Round after receiving a bye in the Extra Preliminary Round. The tie is scheduled to take place week commencing 4th September and will go straight to penalties if level after 90.
