A successful day for Donor Awareness at the Goldstar
Felixstowe and Walton United FC were happy to welcome Michelle Mitchell to the Goldstar Ground on Saturday 29th September for the Buildbase FA Trophy game against Grays Athletic.
As you may have seen in the 3-part interview with Michelle on http://Seasders.TV, she received a liver transport 4 years ago which saved her life. Together with her family and friends, Michelle was at the ground to raise awareness about organ donation. Her hopes for the day were exceeded as so many people showed an interest and a good few signed up there and then to register to carry donor cards. Michelle commented afterwards: ‘I had an amazing day on Saturday everyone was so supportive.’ At half time, she was interviewed on the pitch by our very own man with the mike, Steve Foley, and the information and answers she shared about her own experience brought rounds of applause from the Felixstowe and Walton faithful.
We will be continuing to support Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust and the NHS ‘Yes I donate’ campaign with Michelle throughout the season. If you want to find out more, you can go direct to https://www.organdonation.nhs.uk
