U14's win against Framlingham Town U14
We beat Framlingham 4-3 in the opening game of the season, in a thriller. So the reverse fixture on our home patch promised to be another good test.
Unfortunately the green and white hoops only had 10 players available to them, and the game never really materialised as a contest.
Framlinghams’ game plan was five across the back and hope to hit us on the break. It really was just a question of how we could break down ten men, and how many we could score.
Jake was the focal point of much of the Felixstowe attacking play, and his team mates regularly worked the ball out to his left wing position. As a result he was able to create goal scoring opportunities for himself and his colleagues.
The Framlingham keeper, inevitably, was their man of the match, but couldn’t prevent The Seasiders going 2-0 up by the 26thmin. Both goals from Jake.
Matt added a third just before half time, and the hard working George curled one over the bar.
H.T. 3-0.
Early in the second half George hit the post, before Matt turned provider for Jake to complete his hat-trick. 4-0. Matt turned and weaved in the opponents box and got his second. 5-0. Nartey was keen to get on the score sheet, but was forced wide by the keeper.
Further misfortune hit Framlingham when injury reduced them to nine players. On 56 mins Jake assisted and Nartey got his goal. 6-0.
As the game petered out, Matt fired over and Harry had his shot collected well by the goalkeeper.
F.T. 6-0.
You can only play what is put in front of you, and the team did well to concentrate, keep a clean sheet and secure the win. Coach Jason gave Man Of The Match to Jake for his all around performance.
