Weekend Junior Roundup

Junior Teams in action this weekend

It was a successful first away day at Framlingham for the Under 7’s. After going 1-0 down, Felixstowe turned the game on its head, scoring 3 goals thanks to Anthony Walne, Sam Novak and Olivia Stockdale. Framlingham pulled one back to make it 3-2, which led to a nervy last couple of mins for the visiting supporters. But the team held strong to record their first win.

The Under 11 whites beat a mixed reds and whites Trimley team 5-4.
In a great game, the Seasiders goals came from Stanley, Reece G and Sam Ryan. Mathew took the MOTM award with a brace of goals. A great team performance.

It was a comfortable 8-0 win for the Under 14 Reds in the league at home to Saxmundham.
The goals came from Tey-Botchway x3, Bunting x2, O'Callaghan x2 and Burman.

No such success for the Under 14 Whites who went down 6-1 at Coplestonians.
The early kick off on a fresh morning didn't seem to agree with the squad. A very slow start saw the first half pretty even, but a couple of defensive errors led to the Seasiders coming in at  half time 3-0 down but with the wind with the side, still hopeful of a come back. Second half, plenty of possession and goal scoring opportunities should have provided a way back into the game. Dionne dubbed the "the goal queen" by her team mates continuing her successful scoring run finished well, but the team ran out of legs with only one sub & unfortunately Sophie getting injured. Cops controlled the game and finished it off. The coach commented “Although a loss, a good learning game & we look forward to redeeming ourselves in the league fixture as this is a winnable fixture!!”

On a soggy Sunday, with the games at Dellwood passing an early morning inspection, all 4 Seasiders girls teams were in action, 2 at home and 2 away.

There was a 1-0 victory for the Under 10 girls away at Brantham. It was a very good game to watch and a dominant performance from start to finish. Winning goal by Cailey. The coach said “The whole team were stars of the match!”.

Unfortunately the under 11s girls lost away to Coplestonians 4-1. The score line didn't reflect the match with 2 goals coming in the last 3 minutes. The Seasidettes had only 7 players and the opposition made good use of their squad of 11 players, keeping fresh legs on the pitch. The main thing is they had fun and battled to the final whistle.

The Under 12 girls welcomed Ipswich Valley Rangers to the Goldstar Ground, resulting in a 3-0 defeat, but the dominating second half performance didn't bring the goal or two the home side deserved. GOTM for the Seasiders was E Hope.

Finally, a great team performance saw the Under 14 girls come away from Coplestonians with a battling 2-1 win. The goals came from Issy & Laila.
