A look at the Junior results from the weekend
A harsh result for the Under 9 Whites against a very strong Achilles 1st team, going down 8-1.
The first half began evenly with both teams creating chances. 3 goals in quick succession for Achilles left the boys with an uphill struggle. Ned then forced their keeper in to two fine saves in as many minutes before pulling one back at the 3rd attempt with a lovely team goal that started from the back. Unfortunately Achilles came out strong second half, and despite great effort from our boys, their quality shone through in the end. Great effort from the Whites though, who as a development side more than matched first team opponents for large parts of the game. MOM Ned Ransome, who scored a lovely goal and were it not for a great ‘keeper, would’ve had a hat trick.
The Under 11 Reds went away to a wet and muddy Stowmarket pitch to play Salvation Army in the Plate. After going one down after giving a penalty away the boys bounced back with some great passing football to level the score almost straight away. After missing a few more chances at half time the teams were level at 1-1. After the break the boys got into free flow and played some more really good passing football in horrible conditions and went 2-1 up. However they then found themselves pinned back to level terms with a goal from the home side on the break. Heads didn’t drop and we continued to press forward and three more goals followed for the lads to win the game 5-2 and go through to the next round.
Goals came from a hatrick for Joe Harper & one each for Teddy McCarthy & Zak Hussain. MOTM going to Lucas Butcher with a tireless performance.
With only 9 players and no goalkeeper the Under U12 Whites welcomed Martlesham Eagles from Division 4 to Dellwood in the Plate second round.
On an excellent pitch in the wet and windy conditions Branden Turk went in goal with defenders giving him protection the boys went 2-0 ahead at half time.
2nd half saw 5 more goals for the Seasiders, finishing 7-0
Hats off to the 9 players who continued from last week playing good simple football and taking what they learned from training into the match.

MOM Bunting
On Sunday the U14 girls were at home to Thurston. The girls were all fired up from last weeks result and started the game with hunger in their eyes and went 1-0 up with the first attack of the game. The girls started to knock the ball about lovely and played some good football coming in at half time 5-1 up. The girls didn’t let up and went on to score another 7 goals! Final score 12-2.

In the Eastern Junior Alliance, the U15 boys travelled to Wroxham with a depleted squad and found themselves winning 1-0 at the break against the run of play against a very strong team. The side switched formation for the second half, hoping to stem their attacking play. It worked a treat with Wroxham not getting near the Seasiders goal whilst hitting them beautifully on the counter.....UNTIL disaster struck with 15 minutes left when a rash challenge resulted in a penalty for 1-1. This broke the concentration and 3 minutes later the home side broke one on one to score what turned out to be the winner. The Seasiders had an effort cleared off the line and a couple of late shots well saved by the Wroxham keeper to prevent the boys getting a point. It was long way to go to lose 2-1, but the boys tried hard and it just wasn't to be. Scorer was Alex Chidlow.
