There are times when just occasionally the football scores shown on the internet are transposed and as a causal observer you would be forgiven for thinking at 5 o’clock Saturday that this was one of those occasions – Felixstowe & Walton United - 3  Coggeshall Town - 0, but ye of little faith, this was not the case.

We'd had months of standing behind the opposition goal watching most of the action from 80 yards. On Saturday afternoon in the second half, having binned the binoculars, with the Seasiders kicking towards the Dellwood Road end,  we were treated to a fair share of the action and  3 un-answered goals against one of top sides in the league and our top stopper Jack was not called upon to keep us in the match.  

After the Canvey game I have to say, after initially believing that the players (most of who were with us last year) would be good enough to ensure we held our own in step 4 football,  it was beginning to look like we were mistaken.  That would have been a real shame: a lot of these players had been with us a while and we consider them to be our team.  

A big thank you to all the squad and the management (who you could see wanted the win so much on Saturday) for putting a smile back on the faces of the fans.  

So, with just over half the season gone, having started well and then coming unstuck, we are in a creditable 13th place with 25 points on the board, not too shabby at all for a newly promoted team!
